So much had happening during the past year since her Grandmother had passed on, Anastacia had befriended Laura from the Halfway House Tavern who had affectionately helped her through her grieving, The Squire of Little Candleford who owned the Candleford Woods heard of the old ladies death and suggested that Anastasia should leave the forest and offered to find her somewhere to live that was not so remote but Anastasia was adamant that she wished to stay in the forest and with Laura’s help they persuaded the Squire to agree to let her stay but he insisted that the old Spooky Hollows Cottage where Anastacia had grown up should be renovated and made more inhabitable for the young lady to live in, He had approached Laura’s father, a Master Carpenter to get the skilled men of the Hamlet who for decades had scorned the Witches of Candleford Woods to help with the work. It seemed like the whole village had responded and taken pity on Anastasia who with her ‘special healing’ powers had shown the Hamlet folk that she was a ‘Good Witch as she frequently treated their children’s ailments with her 'secret' potions when they were ill.
As their friendship blossomed Anastasia often visited Laura at The Tavern and Laura introduced her to her friends in Candleford, she took her to Floozies, the high fashioned ladies store where she soon made friends with Lady Katherine and her partner Louisa who in turn introduced her to their friends Emma and Lady Emilia who owned The Bakery.
Anastasia was smitten by their ‘Floozieness’, she loved their life style and accepted without prejudice that a woman could love another woman and couldn’t help wondering if she and Laura would ever have that special relationship ........... perhaps they already had.
When visiting the homes of her new found friends Anastacia was astounded at the ‘finery’ in them, she never knew people who weren’t particularly rich lived in such luxury and quickly decided that when Spooky Hollows was renovated, her little witchy cottage wouldn't be the grubby place full of witches potions, grisly ingredients etc that she grew up in, she would design it to retain it’s ‘old witchy cottage’ style but have more glamourous fittings and decor and rename it 'Picketywitch Cottage', after all she is now a 'Floozie' Witch.
